Muscle and Fitness — The Second Key To Successfully Achievi

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Lets discuss Muscle and Fitness — The Second Key To Successfully Achieving Your Fitness Goals. But just before that, I’d like to remind you about what the previous article discussed.

In a previous article called: “Muscle and Fitness — The First Key To Achieving Your Goals”, you were given ten steps to follow. If you haven’t received this article, I suggest you read that before this one here, as it will make what I’m talking a little clearer.

You can access that article here:
http://www.how-to-build-muscle-and-fitness.com/muscle-and-fitness-1.html

In summary, that article discussed the first key — the ‘HAVE’ key. This is where you identify your muscle and fitness goals.

There are still the ‘BE’ and ‘DO’ keys to go. Which brings me to the second key –

The ‘DO’ Key:

This is the action key. The one that gets you to do what is
necessary to make things happen.

So what you need to do is first identify what your goals are. Decide exactly what you want to achieve and then choose the necessary actionable steps to achieve those goals.

In the first key, the HAVE key, you went through a process that helped (or will help) you in deciding what you want. Maybe it was to lose weight or gain mass muscle, or whatever.

The point is that you know what you want to get out of your
training routine before commencing the routine that suits your goals.

Assuming you have gone through the HAVE key, it’s time to go through the DO key and structure your bodybuilding workout routine, or fitness routine, around your goals.

So lets do that, shall we?

1. Review the work you did in the HAVE key. In other words, look at the index card (postcard) you created that identified your exact goals.

2. Read them. As you do so, feel them. Imagine performing a specific exercise that would be most beneficial for that particular goal. See it happen, as if it is actually happening.

What exercise would be the most effective one in helping you achieve that specific goal?

Once you have decided which exercise to use, write it down.

3. Now move onto the next goal on that card. Go through the motions that you just did in number two above. Feel it. See it.

How good do you feel?

Now, which exercise will be most effective for that specific goal?

Write it down just below the first one.

4. Now move onto the next goal on your card and repeat steps two and three above. Do this until you’ve decided on your specific routine.

Again, write the exercises down.

5. How many repetitions do you need to do?
How many sets should you perform?

This depends on your goals. If it’s to lose weight, then keep the weights light, but heavy enough to provide adequate resistance. If you choose to build muscle, then decide how much muscle you want to build. Then you would choose heavier weights and fewer reps.

If you’re not sure how much weight to use, reps to do or sets to perform… then seek the advice of a professional.

6. Time to choose how often you need to train. If you building bigger muscle, you may need to break your training regime into two to three parts. In other words…

You may decide to work the chest, back and legs on day 1. Then shoulders, biceps and triceps on day 2. Then rest on day 3.

Or are you looking to lose weight?

Then you may choose to perform a total body workout on day 1 and rest on day 2. You may wish to add in some aerobical workout routine as this will help burn off the excessive calories much more quickly.

Just make sure that it’s appropriate for your goal.

7. What about your diet?

Decide what foods are right for you and your goals. Are you
looking to lose weight?

Then eat less, but consume more healthy food with low fat and calories. Decide how often to eat.

Looking to gain weight?

Then eat more. Also choose better foods that can help with weight gain, while they are healthy at the same time. Look for decent whole foods. Decide if supplements are necessary.

8. Make sure that you’ve written everything down. Review it and see if you’ve left anything out.

Now you have the DO key done. You are at the point where you have structured your training program to help you get your goals. In other words…

You now have two of the three keys:

‘DO – HAVE’

All that’s left is the ‘BE’ key. But, that’s enough for today.

Just review this article and take action on the steps above. Follow these steps until complete.

Once you follow these steps, you are set up for the final key…

the ‘BE’ key.

Keep an eye out for it

Optimizing Your Website

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Search engines are a powerful way to promote your website. They will bring you increasing amounts of warm ready to buy visitors. Search engine visitors are already interested in your product/service because they were searching for it when they found your site. Your potential buyer realizes their need and just needs persuasion from you that your product/service can fulfill their wants and needs. This means that they are coming to your site in a buying mood.

How do people search? When people do a search

They put in a keyword; briefly scan the title descriptions, and look for the most appropriate website. That is why it is important to put some thought into each of these Tags and your Domain name choice when you optimize your Website for the search engines.

Creating a site map:

In order to make it very easy for the search engine spiders to crawl your site, place links to all of your pages on your home page as well as every other page on your site Create a Site Map page and link to it directly from your home page. On your Site Map page place links to every page in your website. This guarantees that every page on your website can be reached with a maximum of two mouse clicks or “link follows” by the spiders.

Optimizing your site:

  1. Tags: Preparing your Meta Tags Search Engines require pieces of HTML code called Meta Tags. Some Search Engines rely heavily on Meta Tags others less but most take them into consideration. Meta Tags are pieces of HTML code that are not visible to your human visitors but very important to getting your Website indexed with the Search Engines There are 3 Meta Tags you will need to insert into your site’s HTML: Title Description Keywords

      • Your Title Tag: willbe used by the Search Engines to gather information about your Website topic. It will appear as a hyperlink on the Search Engine results page and will be how people will click thru to your site. Your title must be centered on your keyword/phrase that is in your page,( make the Search Engines happy.) Choose a title that reflects your business and includes 2 or 3 of your primary keywords. It must incite curiosity to entice people to visit your Website, (make humans happy.)

      • Your Description Tag: Should be designed to give Search Engines instructions on what your page is about. It will appear on the Search Engine results page. It should be short and informative, no more than 13 words if possible. Put your most important information in the first few words.

      • Your Keyword Tag: tells Search Engines what keywords they will index to from your site. Only include keywords related to your site content.
  2. Your Domain name: Try to use relevant keywords or a key phrase in your domain name:
  3. Optimizing your content. The 3 basic rules of winning content:

      • Simple

      • Informative

      • Keyword rich not stuffed

Keep your content simple and relevant. Keep on topic and
focused. Your visitors must not be disappointed when they find your site
through their search. The search engines will look favorably at your site if it
is relevant to the searches and easy to understand. Your 1-st paragraph is the most
important as this is often the only part scanned by the search engine sp iders.
This will be your 1-st introduction for your visitors and you want to
make a good impression. Happy visitors and satisfied robots make an all around
win, win situation.

Make your content informative. Visitors love this and robot
spiders expect it. Make sure your content flows well and always write with your
visitors in mind. Good content will encourage your visitors to buy from you and
help your search engine rank. Try to write original content. The best
informative content are info articles. Good quality
reviews are popular with visitors and will help you sell your products. A few
keywords and or key phrases in these and make your
robot visitors happy too.

Keyword rich not stuffed: Do not over use keywords and
phrases; the search engines will penalize you if you do this. Use key phrases
in your title, and description as well as your content. People search for
phrases as well as just words, use both in your content.

Do not get on the wrong side of Google .
This is one of the most powerful search engines and it is critical to your
business not to get penalized by this engine. With that being said

Do not:

Submit multiple URLs for the same site their database. Your main page index is the most acceptable.

Cloaking – Cloaking is having two separate pages, one optimized for the
search engines and a different one for the viewer. In other words the search engine sees one page but the user is redirected to a different page when the
link is clicked. This will be viewed as a blatent attempt to trick the spiders. Making doorway pages is also an example of cloaking.

Hidden text – placing hidden keywords on a page and making the font color the same as the background color (for example
white text on a white background). This makes the text invisible to the human eye but the search engine spiders can still see it. This is meant to give a
higher Page Rank and search engine listing for those keywords. Hidden text is often used on a doorway page. This will not only get you penalized but banned
from Google and other search engines.

Hidden links: are done the same way. The number of pages that link to one of your pages has a direct
effect on how high your page appears in the search results (and that page’s PR). Hiding links will also result in a ban or penalty.

Link farms: A link farm is a page that lists links solely for the
purpose of achieving a high Google PR. Free-For-All links pages are often considered link farms by Google .
Be careful of who you link to! Realistically, you can’t control who links to you, so incoming links will not hurt your site’s ranking. However you do
control directly who you link to, so Google will ban or penalize your site for linking to a “bad neighborhood”.

Selling PR – Blatantly advertising your high PR site to sell a link to
another site in order to boost that site’s PR is another big mistake. Selling advertising
in the form of a link on your site is perfectly acceptable. Selling a link for the stated or implied purpose of increasing a site’s PR is not.

Multiple identical sites (mirror sites- In order to increase PR, some webmasters will create and interlink multiple pages all
with identical or very similar content. This is not allowed.

Multiple domains – Creating multiple domains that redirect to one page
is not allowed. Also, creating multiple domains with the same or nearly the
same content and then interlinking them is a mistake If you have multiple sites place unique content on each site.

Excessive links – Google recommends having no more than 100 links on any given page. Having more than 100 links won’t result
in a ban but it can result in a lower PR. 10 links to a page is an acceptable amount for your visitors and the spiders.

Take care when you optimize your site. Do it well and your
rank will rise try to trick the search engines and you will get penalized. When
you rely on search engines for traffic monitor them well with software like web
position gold. With careful preparation and monitoring you will get the best
results from this powerful tool.

How Your Golf Driver Swing Can Have More Power

Monday, December 29th, 2008

A golf driver swing that is lacking in power has a couple of issues that need to be addressed. A golf driver swing is slightly different than your other clubs…but needs to have the same sequence of motion and body position at impact to produce more power and distance of the tee.

Most golfers swing outside their physical capabilities resulting in lost yardage and accuracy.

Has this ever happened to you?

You step up on a long par 4 or a par 5 and tell yourself you’re going to get their in two. What did you do differently on the tee to achieve it? Did you swing harder? If so, what was your result?

The first issue to cover with your golf driver swing is your range of motion, especially on your backswing. Can you make a 90 degree shoulder turn with minimal tension? Most older golfers don’t even come close.

The optimal position is a 90 degree shoulder turn, with approximately 45 degrees of hip turn. This requires a high level of core strength and flexibility. Shoulder flexibility comes into play just a bit also.

If you can’t get to this position, it doesn’t matter how hard you swing…you’re still not going to maximize your power and distance with your driver. Trying to get to that position when you body cannot physically get there will only cause muscle tension, which slows clubhead speed.

Secondly, getting behind the ball and staying behind the ball at impact is critically to maximizing power and distance. This cannot be achieved with an “out-of-shape” body. It’s a physically impossibility.

Even for a fit golfer, this is sometimes hard to accomplish on a consistent basis.

On the downswing, it is critical the first move is with the lower body rotating (not sliding). This rotation of the lower body, while the upper body stays back (for only a split second) takes a ton of core strength.

A weaker golfer would not be able to achieve this. He/she would come over the top early with the upper body, merely because they don’t have core strength to initiate the downswing with the lower body.

So how do you achieve a golf driver swing with maximum power?

Start working on your core strength and flexibility from a rotational standpoint, with a golf weight training and golf stretching routine. Every exercise and stretch you do should incorporate rotational movements. The primary movement in the golf swing is rotational, so why wouldn’t you focus on that in your golf training program?

This is the quickest way to longer drives!

Hitting more balls with the same body and the same swing won’t get you there!

You’ve got to address the physical component to achieve the mechanical efficiency with your driver.

As soon as you do, you’ll be blowing by the other players in your foursome!

This IS the approach you should take with your golf driver swing.

Poker Affiliate Program Success: Business Building Tips For Affiliates

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Becoming a poker site affiliate does not mean that you have to become a full time advertising executive. Affiliate schemes are a way of spreading a message of making sure that service providers make sure that their site is getting maximum coverage. When a website incorporates affiliate programs and advertising it does not mean that they have to fill a quota or work specific hours. The affiliate system makes it possible for poker sites to reach huge audiences without having to pay for the privilege. Only when a potential customer follows a link from an affiliate site does the parent site have to outlay any money. Similarly the affiliate does not have to pay for the advertising, so in essence both sides gain from risk free advertising and revenue.

As an affiliate it is your job to encourage visitors to follow your links to the poker sites. But the way in which this is done is completely at the discretion of the site owner. The best way is to create a site that encourages visitors to play poker, to use enticing language in order to make it an attractive proposition. If you create a site dedicated to the game of poker or even an aspect of it, you are far more likely to ensnare some people. As soon as they follow your link to the poker site, sign up and begin playing the job of the affiliate is done and all they have to do is wait for the money to pour in.

But building and maintaining a site dedicated to poker or anything for that matter can be a time consuming business. If the task of creating a well-presented site is beyond your personal means you may choose to simply add links to a personal site. This way you are far less likely to attract the sort of clientele that are likely to want to join a poker room, but you could get lucky. Luck is what affiliate programs are all about, even the best sites rely on a bit of luck to get people to join through them. Your chances are significantly increased however if you do choose to take the time to create something that will ultimately attract a huge number of visitors each and every day.

However you plan your attack you must always consider restrictions. Such as time, capability and cost. There is no point in over exerting yourself or spending more than you can afford in the vain hope of getting some custom. For people 100% committed to making affiliations work, dedicating time and effort can reap huge rewards. But for those who want a casual regular income no matter how small from very little effort, the opportunities are there. Make your website work for you by adding advertising and becoming an affiliate. The rewards are there to be won by those who dedicate time and effort to the goal, but it can also work for casual webmasters too.

Beta Testing First Mobile Internet Satellite Broadband, Part I

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Being on the road has its advantages; the freedom is the biggest one. One draw back was the Internet Service, but having done much study on the mobile Internet Satellite Systems and future technologies; I was able to become a beta tester of the MotoSat system in 1999. I have used the system ever sense.

My company, the Car Wash Guys had joined forces with a Strategic Alliance of GM Hughes Satellite Division to beta test the First Fully Self contained, fully Networked Mobile Corporate Office, taking advantage of the newest in WiFi technology. We were the first in the world to have this powerful capabilities which at the time nearly blew away the Pentagon’s Performance with their 77 million dollar investment and Iridium Bailout.

Mobile Corporate Offices are the Wave of the future, where Network Centric Warfare (Net-Centric) in the marketplace combined with strategic mobile command centers used to create a network of networks, which will eventually dominate all of their market sectors. Corporate Giants are slowly learning the game is changing. And we are the ones teaching them. We are the leaders in technology and they will have to learn the hard way. Car Wash Guys are leading everyone’s industry this time. As far as the car wash industry is concerned we left them in the dust a decade ago. Today we use 20 times less water, a third of the labor and spend less than a tenth of the capital to do it. We now have much bigger fish to fry as we go for the gold. To work with this technology you must move your business at the speed of thought.

We at our Bravo research team of WashGuys, had been studying the newest in satellite technologies. Most of our recent studies have been on satellite data transmissions and as many of you know we have become very knowledgeable over the years with satellite communications, I happened to live next door in Malibu from a physicist who worked at the Rockwell Research Center in Thousand Oaks CA. First we would like to talk about actually data transmission speeds and problems associated with relays and problems of security of data when data jumps from satellite to satellite or from satellite to ground. Also with the problems of relay where any and all data can be recorded. As everyone knows the Pentagon bailed out the Iridium project, which is good since we have learned so much from this. The 75 million dollar contract helped pay the bills of 7 million a month including the 40 million per year to Boeing who flies the satellites. Iridium was nice in that it covered the whole Earth, all oceans and remote areas, with spare satellites ready just in case. Iridium had 66 satellites in orbit in use at about 485,000 up. Very close and helps with data lag associated with satellites which is normally a half second or more. The data can be transmitted at 1Mbs, which is slow considering the Wash Guys data transmission capabilities of 10-12.265 Mps up load and the 1Mbs download, faster than that of the US Department of Defense. The other problem we see with their system is the relay in Tempe, AZ home of Motorola, which is unsafe due to the newest wave of possible terrorist devices such as the brief case electronic impulse devises which work from building tops and could easily destroy its relay station. This is why other systems, which are not voice systems and generally web based and data use satellites are much better such as the Globalstar System.

With Globalstar, which is in debt and filed bankruptcy, due to small amount of debt to Qualcomm who is also in trouble and Loral, it may cease to exist. EuroCom has a neat system, which is used in the shipping industry and there is an interesting article in Professional Mariner this month about them and a few others. It is similar to Imersat and supports PBX and PABX systems on ships. Of course the bent pipe approach by GlobalStar is worth considering its 48 operational satellites and the four spares. Only real problem is the range of 70 degrees north to 60 degrees south. And also the gaps if you let’s say in the middle of the ocean at sea level in the South Atlantic and or middle of the Pacific. Several satellites can transmit the coded signal but unlike the Iridium system the Satellites do not talk to themselves. But all in all Global Star data transmissions are still about 9.6 KBPS and actually slightly less than the Iridium system, which does not have the lapse in service.

The Iridium of course is the Arthur C. Clark theory in practice and is worthy of note; the big problem right now with data transmission is the problems with direct sight to satellite, which we have encountered. Hard for submarines, and below decks on vessels or in buildings. Good for catching bad guys who have to go out in the open to use the phone, they do not work in caves either. Iridium like all of Microsoft software has triple redundancy, and uses CDMA technologies to gateway the data from transmission point into the terrestrial system. Inmarsat Systems include the I-4 system, which can transmit data at 432 MBPS turns out to be excellent for things like video conferencing. The newest satellites by Inmarsat are said to be able to 10 times more communications than the current ones. Since the Inmarsat satellites are at 22,300 miles up three satellites cover the Earth with 3 back-ups. But remember with that altitude there is a time delay. You will notice this when you see video feed from the Middle East Wars on live broadcasts on TV, CNN.

Paddle floats

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Paddle floats can save your life, so make sure that you get an easy to use paddle float.

If you’re going to be kayaking in deep water (whether this is the ocean or a lake) you may not always be able to go to shore if your kayak flips.Paddle floats provide a great tool for you to recover your boat and get back inside if needed. As a result, you should always make sure that you have a paddle float on hand when you are at sea.

There are many different types of paddle floats that are sold at various stores. However, it’s understandably hard to tell which floats work better than others. You should always look for floats that are easier to inflate than others. There are two ways to do this. First, you should read the instructions for use of whatever paddle floats you’re thinking about buying. If you do not think that you’ll be able to use the paddle float then it is probably not your best bet.

You should also check and see how long the manufacturer says that it should take you to right your boat while you’re using. You can also read the recommendations of people who have tried that particular paddle float in the past. If they say that it was difficult to use, then that may mean that you’re better off looking for a different paddle float.

Most paddle floats are made out of nylon and are brightly colored. That way, if the paddle float is lost, or if it comes free of the paddle, it will be easily found. Considering the types of locations where you will need to use the paddle float, this is very important.

Paddle floats are used to right your kayak after it has tipped over. Essentially, the paddle float turns your kayak paddle into an important tool. Since one end of the kayak paddle will float, you’ll be able to use the kayak paddle to push against the water on the other side of the kayak. The direct result is that the kayak will not flip over again, and you’ll be able to get back inside.

Since it is not particularly easy to use paddle floats, it’s recommended that you go somewhere relatively safe and practice using them before you get out on the open water and need to know how.

Skiing Holidays for the Carbon Friendly Snowboarder

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Countless keen skiers will presently be finding their ski pants and scooting away trying to find the largest snow conditions.

And beyond question the result from our carbon footprint will be virtually as far down the list of vacation musts as a Christmas cracker after Christmas.

Only last winter, a tardy snow made the the headlines and tourists were panic stricken about the flecks of snow disappearing almost as soon as they put down.

Ski holiday company Chalet1802, based at the bottom of Mont Blanc in Chamonix village in the Alps, is one of the only independent firms to go carbon neutral and give skiers an environmentally friendly option whilst booking their skiing trip.

Chalet1802 owner Andy said: Last season was quite a surprise with the hottest wintertime in fifty five years in France. Snowboarding skiing areas like La Plagne, Montroc and Isola 2000 lacked clients. It was mild and the snowfall did not last so much of the early ski season in the mountains was uneven. We chose to become carbon negative to assist in the preservation the snowboarding resort.

Andy said: We’re not seeking to dictate to punters only we believe it’s valuable to afford the clients the selection without increasing the cost of the vacation. If the client book with us and vacations in our Chamonix ski chalet they may further off set their carbon output and we take in the added costs. Of course we still have a sauna and a hot tub – clients wish for luxury but not at the expense of the alps mountains, so we looked at methods of diminishing the affect of a client driving over here for a ski holiday.”

The business have also partnered with organisation Climate Care, which deals with global warming by providing carbon dioxide deductions for people and firms.

For more information on luxury chalets and carbon negative snowboarding holidays provided by Chalet1802 visit www.chalet1802.co.uk.

The CFL – The Cannabis Football League

Friday, December 26th, 2008

The Canadian Football League (CFL) is to the NFL as Miller beer is to Budweiser. It’s a lightweight that can’t compete.

That’s why the Cannabis league has decided to resort to tactics like luring players like Ricky “The Hemp” Williams and Onterrio “Whizzenator” Smith. Both players have been suspended by the NFL for violations against its drug policy.

By the way, the CFL does not test its players. That’s why Williams feels safe in the Cannabis league.

Ricky Williams was signed by the Toronto Argonauts. The team’s ownership said it was happy to have a role model like the “Hemp” on its squad.

Shame on the CFL for condoning such degenerate behavior. I’m sure parents are thrilled to have Ricky Williams as their child’s role model.

Onterrio Smith was signed by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers but was cut recently. The “Whizzenator” injured himself a few weeks back and was unable to recover. I guess he thought that his whizzenator could cure his injury.

By the way, the whizzenator was the device that Smith was caught with by Airport security. It is used to help a player mask his drug use.

Way to go Bombers. Was Smith going to be a great role model for kids? We shouldn’t be surprised by the CFL’s actions. Canadians seem to be apathetic to drug use, especially marijuana. Many people believe it should be legalized.

I’m not kidding. In recent elections in Manitoba, the marijuana party was on the ballot.

It all makes sense to me now. I’ve always questioned why the CFL awards a point for a missed field goal. It must be due to place kickers being high on weed. You see, they’re probably seeing three uprights and the league wants to ensure that they get at least one point for their efforts (I’m just kidding).

Kidding aside. The CFL has become a joke. It has to resort to signing degenerate drugged out football players that have become rejects of the NFL.

So the NFL is truly a league of rejects. The CFL tries to add exciting arena football type activities and rules but it’s really to mask the amateurish skills of its athletes.

Strength Training For Golf – No Gym Required

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

Strength training for golf is viewed by golfers as a lot of work, time-consuming, boring and you need a gym membership to do it. None of the above is true, and if you read this article, I’ll explain why.

You see… strength training for golf isn’t on machines anyways…so that eliminates the requirement of a gym. All you need is a pair of handweights, exercise tubing and a stability ball and you’ve got your entire “in-home” golf fitness gym.

It’s not a lot of work, if you pick and choose the area you want to focus on. It’s not time-consuming if you do it in the convenience of your home, and have a plan of action. And lastly, it can be a lot of fun, when you use bands, exercise balls and training equipment specific to golf.

There many “so-called” strength training for golf programs, but when you take a look at them, you’ll see pictures of golfers sitting on their butts in a machine. I don’t know about you, but I think golf is done “on your feet”, right?

Strength training for golf is becoming “mainstream” with the golfing community. We see and hear all the pros doing it and playing their best golf; so why wouldn’t we amateurs do it also?

There are so many reasons why to participate in a strength training for golf program, that you can’t overlook it and say you don’t need it.

Lacking power in your swing? It’s because your body can’t produce any stored energy from a full backswing with torque in your core. That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

Is your golf swing inconsistent from one swing to the next? Swing faults originate from some deeper physical limitation that’s not allowing you to make a mechanically sound and repeatable swing. How many times have you taken a lesson and heard your pro say, “you need to make a full backswing”, but you just can’t physically do it? That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

How about injuries? Do you have one at the moment? The golf swing is physically damaging to the body if you don’t have enough strength and flexibility to withstand the force the golf swing puts on it. Swinging a 3 foot long lever (club) at up to 90 mph is unbelievably stressful on the joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles of the body. That’s a ‘physical’ issue, not mechanical.

I could go on and on, but I think you might get the idea by now.

Strength training for golf may be your “missing link” to your best game ever! If you’ve tried all the ‘other’ methods, this is the ONLY one left. Why wouldn’t you explore the possibilities a little more?

If you’re looking to add power to your golf swing; improve your consistency; and prevent golf injuries, then you’ve got to consider strength training for golf.
