Guess Eyeglasses Breaks Barriers as Industry Groundbreaker
Sunday, January 17th, 2010The 1980’s were good years for Guess brand. It was then that, in a move that still impacts the fashion world and capitalism, the Guess label diversified into designer eyeglasses. In January of 1989, as other powerhouse fashion companies were still ringing in the New Year, celebrating their successes during New York City’s fashion week, and looking towards what they were going to send down the International runways during the Spring. At that time, Guess brand was preparing to announce a venture that would have a profound affect on the fashion scene over 20 years later. On January 13, of that year, Guess brand announced that they had bought, not merely licensed, an eyeglasses company. Thus, Guess Eyeglasses was born.
The Guess brand has divided into many different territories since their zipper days, and none are as promising as their foray into designer eyeglasses. After nearly thirty in production, the Guess company finds themselves among the more successful and well-known names in fashion. Beginning as zipper manufactures from Morocco, the company’s founders have included influences from both their homeland as well as their adoptive home state of California into their looks. Simply stylish and available in a variety of colors and shapes, including this season’s must have squared frame, Guess has proven brand quality is carried over to their eyeglasses, allowing for the fiscally oriented person to indulge in designer eyewear that may other wise be elusive to them. With very reasonable prices, Guess realizes buying that name brand does not mean having to spend a lot of money.
